Central Government Health Scheme covered Bhubaneswar in 1988 but the scheme was spread to only AG employees and pensioners. CGHS was extended for all central government employees and pensioners in June 2008. Currently Bhubaneswar has 3 allopathic CGHS dispensaries and 1 Ayurvedic unit which operate only 3 days a week.
